Stop Waiting for the 'Right Time' to Build Your Reputation

There's rarely a 'right time for anything in life - particularly as a business owner. We all know the reasons. Too busy. Not ready. Want to wait until things are bigger, tidier, more together, and more impressive.

Meanwhile, someone else in your industry, doing work no better than yours, is quietly building the profile that should be yours.

Reputation isn't something you switch on when you finally feel ready. It builds slowly, in the background, while you're getting on with the day-to-day. It's the accumulation of small things: a well-placed comment, a piece of coverage, a consistent voice on the topics you know best. Maybe to you it doesn't feels significant on its own. But together, it's what people mean when they say someone "is well recognised" in their industry.

The businesses that wait for perfect timing usually end up starting years later than they needed to, and playing catch up with competitors who simply got on with it. Worse, they often start from behind, having to explain who they are to an audience that's already made its mind up about someone else.

You don't need a huge announcement or a slick launch. You don't need to have it all figured out first. You need consistency, a clear story, a compelling narrative and someone willing to tell it well, even while things are still a work in progress.

Don't keep putting if off... It's easier, and faster, than you'd

expect.
